Painting is an important form in the visual arts, bringing in elements such as drawing, composition, gesture (as in gestural painting), narration (as in narrative art), and abstraction (as in abstract art).

Mosaic Picture:  This is a picture or pattern produced by arranging together small pieces of stone, tile, glass, etc. It is a picture composition with one medium in a variety of colours whereby shapes like triangle, squares, circle etc. are often used

Fresco painting: This is a technique of mural painting executed upon freshly laid ("wet") lime plaster. Water is used as the vehicle for the dry-powder pigment to merge with the plaster, and with the setting of the plaster, the painting becomes an integral part of the wall.

Impasto Painting: This is a painting technique that celebrates texture, where paint is laid on an area of the surface in very thick layers, usually thick enough that the brush or painting-knife strokes are visible. Artists use thick paint to add dimension and emphasis on their work.

Landscape painting: This the depiction of natural scenery in art. Landscape paintings may capture mountains, valleys, bodies of water, fields, forests, and coasts and may or may not include man-made structures as well as people.
